“And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.’ (Al Quran 2:186)
‘Ibadah is the purpose of our creation as mentioned in the Qur’an Majeed. The core of worship, as Our Prophet PBUH told us, is DU’A. He PBUH also called du’a “The Weapon of the believer” .
To get the most out of a weapon, we need to learn
how to use it,
where to use it
when to use it.
The greatest teachers of humanity were/are the Prophets. In the Qur’an Majeed, Allah SWT relates to us the examples of the Prophets AS so as to teach us from their examples and make us remind that these are the accepted prayers and the weapons used by the Prophets – The most beloved of ALLAH SWT – so O’ followers ask in the same way and you will be benefitted in shaa Allah Ta’alah.
This treatise is an attempt to understand how to make the most out of the weapon that is du’a, by learning from the teachers (Prophets) themselves.
Details of the du’a with the context are to be read in the book. For the sake of initialization purpose I am copying word by word details of first du’a from the book.
1) Hazrat Adam AS
So let us begin at the very beginning. Our mother and father, Hawa and Adam AS, after having fallen prey to the treachery of Satan, have been expelled from heaven. Filled with remorse and longing for their Lord, they want to turn back to Him SWT, but alas, they know not how.
They do not know the words with which to turn back to Him SWT.
Merciful is He SWT, the Creator of Hawa and Adam AS, who taught them thus and so they said:
“Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.” [Al Quran 07:23]
The perfect way to restart your relationship with your lord SWT, don’t you think?
In one simple sentence, Allah SWT taught our father and us,
the abject nature of a human,
his relationship with Allah SWT,
the essence of Tawhid
what really constitutes being a “loser”.
Of course, this du’a also teaches us the best way to repent!
Then there are du’as of
Hazart Nuh AS,
Hazart Ibrahim AS,
Hazart Yusuf AS,
Hazart Ayub AS,
Hazart Yunus AS,
Hazart Musa AS,
Hazart Dawood AS,
Hazart Sulaiman AS,
Hazart Muhammad PBUH.
May Allah SWT bless the Ummah with the ability to follow the best of the practices and bless the Ummah with every goodness of both the worlds. Aameen
